Local Talent perfect condiment to Food - Campsie Food Festival - 4 June

The Mayor of the City of Canterbury, Cr Robert Furolo MP, announced the perfect condiment to all the food at the 2011 Campsie Food Festival - a great line up of local entertainment.

"The Campsie Food Festival has been built around our love for food and cultural diversity," Mayor Robert Furolo said.


"Whilst food takes centre stage, and pallets are tantalised with a feast of flavours, we also have a great line up of performers to entertain food lovers.

"The band stand in Anzac Park with have three different bands performing all day: Georges River Stage Band, Salvation Army Band Campsie and the Riverwood Squadron Air League band.

"We're very excited to have SBS Pop Asia Program live on stage. From Japanese J-Pop and the mega ballads of Cantonese and Mandarin C-Pop and the latest from Korea - SBS PopAsia is a journey into the heart of Asia's pop music scene. Star of the PopAsia Show Jamaica dela Cruz along with PopAsian's Mega Matt and Magical Annie and DJ Masta Tea, will definitely wow crowds.

"As will the local Sydney Hellenic Dance studio and Sing Australia Ashbury Choir.

"One group which always amazes audiences with their death defying acts is the Australian Yau Kung Mun Lion Dance - it's the most amazing lion dance I've ever seen.

"Songstress Michelle Mutyora, who was discovered as part of our X factor competition in 2010, will wow audiences with her voice and charisma, and she's only 15 years old.

"This year we will have a special Korean percussion performance from Samulnori, who specialise in traditional Korean drumming and dancing.

"The Korean Seniors Group will also be performing and showcasing the elaborate colourful Korean traditional costumes. They are quite unique and a great aspect of Korean culture.

"Now in its twelfth year, the Campsie Food Festival has become an opportunity for food lovers to satisfy their appetite for food and culture from all over the world," Mayor Robert Furolo said.

"The Campsie Food Festival is a feast of flavours, with over 60 stalls, a cooking stage featuring Celebrity Cook 2010 MasterChef contestant Alvin Quah who will demonstrate his flare for food cooking two Malaysian dishes, the SBS radio stage, cultural performances, eating competitions and rides for kids - it's the Seoul of Sydney, and reflects our cultural diversity, and great community spirit," Mayor Robert Furolo said.
